"From the Depths of Darkness" is a re-recording of tracks from BURZUM's first two albums: "Burzum" and "Det Som Engang Var." Inspired by the recordings for "Belus" and in the midst of recording "Fallen," Varg went into the studio in March 2010 and re-recorded a select number of tracks from BURZUM's early days. The result is these tracks sounding the way Varg originally intended them to sound for his fans and admirers. He also added three new tracks. "From the Depths of Darkness" is an album that further solidifies BURZUM's legacy.
